ALUNDIS BRICE - SECONDARY COACH

Alundis Brice was named Portland State’s new secondary coach in March. Brice had worked at the University of Idaho as the cornerbacks coach for the past three years.

“Alundis just reinforces what I always believe, and that is be very patient in hiring,” said Glanville. “As we kept interviewing secondary coaches, I kept wondering ‘is the guy we really want out there?’ Patience paid off as you could tell very quickly in his interview. This is why we had not made a decision on anyone else. His knowledge and experience to be able to adapt and change put him in a league all by himself. I never went to sleep until he was added to the staff. He makes us complete.”

Brice is excited to get started at Portland State.

“After meeting some of the guys here at Portland State, I truly believe I can be an asset to their growth on and off the field. My main goal is to get them to believe in my favorite motto, ‘great players do things people never see,’” said Brice.

“It’s an honor to work for a coach with great prestige in the game of football like Jerry Glanville. It gives me great confidence in myself that he has entrusted in me the entire secondary for the first time in my coaching career.”

Brice was a two-time first-team All-SEC performer while at Ole Miss. He earned the Chucky Mullins Courage Award in 1994 and also an NCAA Community Service Award. Brice was drafted by Dallas in 1995 and played two seasons with the Cowboys. He was a member of the Super Bowl XXX Champion team.

During his professional career, Brice also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.

Brice worked as a graduate assistant at Alabama-Birmingham and Mississippi prior to going to Idaho in 2004
